1,000 up for parliament visitors
The number of people to have visited the Houses of Parliament as part of tours organised by local MP Luke Hall has hit the 1000 mark.
The trips aim to give an insight into the parliamentary process, the day to day work of an MP, and to provide an opportunity for residents to discuss local issues.
During the most recent trip, a tour was given of the Palace of Westminster, before participants gave their MP a grilling in the Westminster Hall debating chamber, in a 45 minute question and answer session.
Mr Hall said: “I was particularly thrilled that the 1000th visitor should be one of my closest neighbours, and I look forward to meeting many thousands more people in the coming weeks, months and years.”
