Award winning brass quartet blow their own trumpets

AN all-trumpet, women-only quartet is about to visit Chipping Sodbury as part of the town’s music society programme for the autumn.
Bella Tromba was originally formed as a classical brass chamber group, with a repertoire of original music from the Renaissance to the present day played on an array of trumpets.
The members continue to perform recitals and concerts alongside collaborations with popular and jazz musicians and will bring their award winning brass repertoire to the town hall on Tuesday, October 11.
Another four-strong group, the Artisan Quartet, will be in concert with stringed instruments on Tuesday, November 8.
Its programme will feature varied pieces as well as arrangements compiled by viola player Ross Cohen.
The final performance of the year - the 69th season for the society - will be by the GBH Big Band on Tuesday, December 6, with a selection of seasonal favourites promised, along with some classic big band tunes.
