Student success celebrated at Brimsham Green School
PUPILS, parents, staff and governors have recognised the achievements of Brimsham Green School students at a special celebratory event.
The most recent GCSE and A-level examination results were applauded, along with the achievements of students from the Yate secondary school who have secured apprenticeships or are going on to vocational courses.
Head teacher Kim Garland said: “We are really proud of the challenging academic and vocational pathways our students have chosen and we have absolute faith that they will be successful in their endeavours. Undoubtedly, you will hear about these students in the future.”
At GCSE Jessica Hatherell received an award for high achievement in chemistry, biology, English language, French, history, music and geography, while Lawrence Northam was recognised for chemistry and computer science.
At A-level, Abbie Walker was for celebrated for her achievements in English literature, geography and German, and Marcus Jeffries was recognised for his success in physics, maths and further maths.
Special awards were also given out: the Sports Cup to Michael Holden, the Music Cup to Bethany Goodchild, the Graham Slann Award to Max Calderan, the Brimsham Green Cup to Finlay Barringer and the Sophie Gibbs Drama Award to Kirk Clifford, who is now at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School studying production arts for stage and screen.
