AN organisation which represents nearly 60 businesses in Chipping Sodbury is looking for a new chairman or woman.

The town’s chamber of commerce has been led for the past two years by Joanne Cox, who will step down from the voluntary role in January.

Established in 2009, the chamber represents mostly small independent traders. It also organises events and promotes the well-being of its members.

This year it was responsible for organising the Chipping Sodbury Hare Trail  which was incorporated into the annual Cotswold Hare Trail for the first time. It publishes the Chipping Sodbury calendar and is involved with the town’s Victorian Day, where this year it will be sponsoring the headline live music act, The Frampton Shantymen.

The chamber will also be taking part in Small Business Saturday on December 2. It will be the fifth time it has been involved with the annual nationwide campaign that encourages consumers to shop local and support small businesses in their communities.

Anyone interested in becoming the next chairman or woman should email admin@sodburychamber.co.uk to find out more about the role.
