Cashpoint crisis addressed by chamber

A map of shops that offer cash back or have cash machines inside has been published by Chipping Sodbury’s Chamber of Commerce.

Cash points have all but disappeared after the closure of bank branches on the High Street. There is a cash point inside the Spar store with another planned at the Post Office in Cotswold Vintners.

Councillor Rob Creer and Sodbury Town Council have worked with the Chamber on the map, which is posted on the notice board by the Tourist Information Centre, as well as in many shops.

Joint Chair of the Chamber, Andrew Webb said: “We hope this map will help ease the problems visitors are having getting cash when they visit the town since the banks withdrew all of their machines.  However we will continue to work to get a 24 hour  access machine installed back into the town."
