A NEW manager has taken over the Break charity shop in Chipping Sodbury.

Carey Wells said she aimed to make more people aware of the shop’s presence in Horse Street and encourage them to visit.

She said: “At Break, we make life better for vulnerable young people. We work to help children with disabilities, young people in care and the families that support them.

“We believe every child and young person has the right to a home where they feel safe and loved, so they can grow in confidence and look to the future with hope.”

She said Break’s care division recently held a celebration for the young people in its children’s homes to recognise their achievements while in care or foster homes.

The awards were given out by Farooq Chaudhry, who spent time in care as a teenager and went on to be a successful director of a dance company.Ms Wells also said Break worked with CHICKS, a Cheltenham-based charity that provided respite holidays for disadvantaged children and their families across the UK.
