Chipping Sodbury Rugby Club looking for new players
CHIPPING Sodbury RFC are offering some of the best opportunities in the area for people who play or want to start playing rugby.
The club has players who started at the age of three and now play for England
It runs three senior squads, two men’s and one ladies’, with the first team playing this season in the Tribute Western Counties South West Division, the highest league the club has ever played in.
But people who are new to the game are given coaching to help build confidence and skills.
Men train on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm and women train on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8.30pm.
The club also has an excellent Mini & Youth section who will be starting their summer fun days from July 10, including BBQ night on the first Wednesday of every month. They will run every Wednesday until the start of the season, are open to all age groups and a fantastic way to meet the other players and have a lot of fun.
The Mini & Youth rugby season will kick off on September 8 from 10am, with registration day, and then will run every Sunday until the end April.
Teams are run for ages: chippies for 2-5 years old and teams from Under 7’s through to Under 17’s. Training for the Mini & Youth is age-dependent: contact the club for more information.
CSRFC also have three girl-only sides for Under 13’s, 15’s and 18’s who train every Wednesday night from 6.30-7.30pm: no experience is needed as the RFU level 2 coaches will be on hand to give all the help beginners need.
