Chipping Sodbury Town have started 2017 in good form with 2 wins in the league, pushing them back to mid-table in the toolstation Premier league.

Sodbury have come out the other side of a tough December where they had as many as 9 players out through injury.   Now manager Karl Reese has most of them back fit and available and is hoping they can kick on again.

With a couple of new signings very close to being secured in time for a tough run of games, Karl is hoping to get a settled squad together for the coming weeks

After gaining promotion to the Bristol Combination League Div 1, Sodbury Reserves have had a tremendous start to the season and are lying third with a couple of games in hand on the leaders.

The players have shown a great deal of commitment, and the blend of youth and a bit of experience has paid off. The team have played 11 games and won 9, loosing thest 2. The only blemish of the season so far is picking up lots of injuries, with brothers both breaking their collar bones with two weeks of each other.

Chipping Sodbury thirds have had two games since the mid winter Xmas break.  The first was against a strong, second in the table, Nicholas Wanderers.

Sodbury started strongly, hitting the woodwork within the first minute, and took the lead from a corner which was scrambled over the line by Luke England.  Dan Clements added a second on 20 minutes which left the Wanderers shell shocked and by half time they were three up through Jake Owers .

The second half went the same way, and after a couple of changes Sodbury added three more through Cameron Winter who scored two and Kacey Brown.  Wanderers did pull two goals back but these were too little too late.

The second game was against Bendix and Sodbury were one down within three minutes from a disputed free kick that went through the wall.  Sodbury hit back with a goal from Jamie Bradford and with ten minutes to go substitute Kacey Brown broke away and put Sodbury 2-1.  However, with only seconds left Sodbury conceded an equaliser from the penalty spot.
