Fascinating Rhythm is 20 this month, and to mark the milestone the singers are staging a spectacular show.

Chloe Roberts brings us up to date with the preparations. Our 58 strong all female chorus are busy rehearsing for a big celebration this month.

There have been lots of new songs to learn – one every two weeks in preparation for a show which won’t disappoint. We know many of you out there support us so we are determined to have some fresh new songs in our repertoire. If you’ve seen us before, we’ve added a new dimension to the mix with the help of Love’s Bet Productions and you can expect the unexpected.

Tickets for the show on Saturday 27th June at the Olympus Theatre, Wise Campus, Stoke Gifford, are on sale via our website www.fascinatingrhythm. com or you can call 07719368701 to book over the phone. There will be a matinee performance at 2.30pm – tickets £10 each, £5 concession for senior citizens and under 14’s, and an evening performance at 7.30pm – all tickets £10. Our inhouse groups will be on the bill as well as our younger contingent - Junior FR. Junior FR’s hard work under the direction of MD Wendy Howse and her dedicated team of helpers paid off in March when they competed in the U14 class at Thornbury Eisteddfod, singing a 3-part a cappella arrangement of ‘Who’s the Best’, followed by ‘Edelweiss’ accompanied by Jo Luddington on the piano. They won their class with an improved score of 87% and were awarded a Distinction.

They are now working towards the show on 27th June, and also Iron Acton’s ‘Prom’s in the Meadow’, on 4th July. After last September’s successful one day workshop for girls, Fascinating Rhythm and Junior FR will be running another workshop this November thanks to funding from South Gloucestershire and The Thornbury Rotary Club. Please contact WendyHowse@ for general info about JFR and bookings. Fascinating Rhythm have recently moved their rehearsals from Rangeworthy Village Hall to the Greenfi eld Centre in Winterbourne. We still rehearse on a Thursday night from 7.30 – 10pm. If you think you might be interested in joining us, you are always welcome to come along to a rehearsal to fi nd out more about us, but please note we now have a waiting list, unless you are a bass.
