Cricket season on horizon as nets begin

CHIPPING Sodbury’s preparations for the new cricket season are underway with the details of their winter nets.
The club will once again be running five Saturday senior sides and a Sunday XI along with youth teams from under-9s through to under-17s.
All-rounder Jamie Rendell is Sodbury’s new first XI captain and the man tasked with leading the club this summer in the West of England Premier League’s new Gloucestershire division. Opponents will include rivals such as Stroud, Lydney and Dumbleton.
Sodbury are hosting free pre-season taster sessions for all new under-9s, under-11’s and under-13’s in the sports hall at Chipping Sodbury School on Sunday February 7. Times include Under-9’s, 2pm-3.30pm; and under-11s/under-13’s, 3.30pm-5pm.

Winter training is already underway and new players of all ages and ability are welcome.
 Winter Nets
 Under-11s Fridays - 6pm to 7.25pm (every other week) at Yate International Academy (New Sports Complex), on February 5th and 19th, plus March 4th and 18th.
Under-13s Fridays - 6pm to 7.25pm (every other week)  at Yate International Academy (New Sports Complex) on  February  12th and 26th, plus March 11th.
Under-15s Fridays - 7.30pm to 8.55pm (every other week) at Yate International Academy (New Sports Complex) on February 5th and 19th,  plus March 4th and 18th.
Under-17s Fridays - 7.30pm to 8.55pm (every other week) at Yate International Academy (New Sports Complex) on February  12th and  26th, plus March 11th.
Seniors Thursdays - 8pm to 10pm at Yate International Academy (New Sports Complex) on February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th, plus March 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th.
