INTERNATIONAL dressage rider Hayley Watson-Greaves has been selected for a programme that is aimed at producing future medal winners.

The 33-year-old, of Bagstone, near Yate, was non-travelling reserve for the British team for the Rio Olympics with her top horse WG Rubins Nite.

Now she has been named among 34 athletes from the three Olympic equestrian disciplines of dressage, eventing and showjumping and from Paralympic dressage for the World Class Podium Potential Programme for 2016-18.

The programme is funded by UK Sport through the National Lottery to continue the success of riders both at home events and on the international stage.

Hayley has competed since a child in showjumping and eventing, as well as in dressage, and has been trained for the past nine years by Olympic rider Carl Hester.
