Driver wanted after hit-and-run leaves two cyclists injured - do you recognise this vehicle?
POLICE are trying to trace this 4x4 and trailer after a hit-and-run crash which left two cyclists injured.
Officers say the driver deliberately swerved into the verge after overtaking the cyclists, knocking one from his bike and causing the other one to collide with him.
The incident happened at around 5.50pm on July 28 on Sodbury Road between Wickwar and Chipping Sodbury.
An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said the black 4×4 was towing a large livestock trailer behind the two cyclists, who were travelling in single file.
The spokesperson said: "As they entered a 40mph zone, the cyclists reported hearing the sound of a car horn and shouting as the vehicle approached them.
"The driver overtook and deliberately swerved to the nearside verge, causing the trailer to knock one of the cyclists from his bike and the other cyclist to collide with him.
"The two cyclists, both men in their 40s, sustained injuries which required hospital treatment. They have since been discharged."
Officers have found CCTV images of the vehicle they believe to be involved and have called on anyone who can help identify the driver to get in touch.
The spokesperson said: "We’d also ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who may hold dashcam footage to get in touch with us."
Anyone who can help should call 101, quoting crime reference number 5220 184 275, or contact the police online.
