Election preview: Dodington ward

Two seats are up for grabs in this South Gloucestershire Council ward, so you get two votes. Candidates are listed in alphabetical order, with pictures and quotes added for those candidates who have supplied them.

Tony Davis, Liberal Democrat Focus Team:

Tony Davis

Tony has lived in Yate since he came here to work – bringing up his family here. He has worked in aerospace and then in the civil service. He runs a martial arts club, and is on the Yate Outdoor Sports Complex project raising the cash to improve local sports facilities and was behind the Armadillo. Councillor since 1995.

 

Louise Harris, Liberal Democrat Focus Team:

Louise Harris

Louise grew up locally and lives in Chipping Sodbury currently whilst she house hunts. She works for a mental health charity and is a volunteer in her community as a parish councillor, Abbotswood Action group and running local charity stalls. Elected to South Gloucestershire Council representing Dodington in a by election in November 2018.

 

Ian Livermore, Conservative:

Ian Livermore

Ian and Shirley Livermore moved to Chipping Sodbury in 1983, daughters Catherine and Sarah schooled locally as do their granddaughters, and family members live on “The Birds”. Ian wants to represent Dodington, where he is a Shireway Community Centre Trustee, and is helping the Abbotswood Scout Group find new premises.

 

Simon Schofield, Conservative:

Simon Schofield

Simon is a resident in Yate with over a decade of experience working with South Gloucestershire Council and solving local problems. He is a trustee of the Shireway Community Centre, where he is working with the committee to create a hub for local people and our communities.
