Music in the Meadows, charity festival by Acton Aid for local good causes at the Mash in the Iron Acton Parish Meadows. Yate and District Rotary Club Beer and Music Festival, Chipping Sodbury Rugby Ground. More than 80 real ales and craft beers, 25 types of cider and perry plus wines and Prosecco, hot food and music from seven live bands over two days. Open Friday from 6pm-11.30pm, Saturday from noon until 11.30pm. Pruning stoned fruit trees, such as plums and gages, and attending to odd jobs on the reserve. Meet at the Shire Way entrance to the woodland, south Yate, at 10am.

Winterbourne Medieval Barn, 10.30am-4pm. West Gallery music workshop, for singers of any age and voice who can learn songs by ear, or can read music. No experience required. Musicians are also very welcome on strings, woodwind or concertinas, and music will be provided. West Gallery is the kind of light music which village bands played up to the early 1800s.
