Free sessions to get people active

PEOPLE in South Gloucestershire who do less than 30 minutes of physical activity a week are being urged to sign up for the SportsPound programme.

PEOPLE in South Gloucestershire who do less than 30 minutes of physical activity a week are being urged to sign up for the SportsPound programme.

The scheme is aimed at getting more people active by encouraging them to join activity sessions.

Those who enrol will receive a booklet of eight vouchers, each worth a free session of activities ranging from aerobics, yoga and pilates to badminton, swimming and bowls.

Tennis, cricket and netball are also some of the other forms of exercise on offer.

The programme is open to anyone over the age of 14, who can use the vouchers for just one activity or different ones.

The SportsPound scheme has received National Lottery funding of £171,324 from Sport England.
