Have a cuppa with Gromit
Gromit’s arrival in Chipping Sodbury is being celebrated with a ‘Tea with Gromit’ party at his new home in the Baptist Church Garden.
Everyone is invited to the event on July 2 between 3-5pm. The Chamber will be giving away official Gromit ears; Hobbs House Bakery has donated 100 Gromit Biscuits to decorate on the day, there’ll be ‘Gromit’ face painting, and members of the Baptist Church are busy baking. Mayor James Ball will be guest of honour.
Despite excitement over the imminent arrival of the town’s first ever Gromit, it’s still not known which design the town will get and which artist has painted the sculpture.
Over 40 local businesses and organisations have supported the initiative and members of the public have also sponsored Gromit.
His visit is part of the Gromit Unleashed 2 trail which runs from Monday July 2nd until Sunday 2nd September. Over 60 sculptures will come to Bristol and the surrounding areas to raise money for The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.
Trail maps will be available on the day and throughout the summer from the Chipping Sodbury Tourist Information Centre and Swagger Unique Gift Shop.
