Hedger back in action at Silverstone
Luke Hedger returned to British Superbike action at Silverstone after missing round 8 at Cadwell Park due to a family bereavement and he was really looking forward to his return.
He raced in a specially designed helmet in memory of his mother- in- law who had lost her fight to cancer.
Qualifying was difficult because of a drying track and Luke only managed to qualify in 24th.
Race 1 found Luke struggling with the set up and finishing in 21st, but Race 2 was a disaster for Hedger with an engine blow up on lap 3 which sent him into the gravel.
The team managed to change engines before race 3 and although he got a good start it was clear there was some thing wrong. For the first few laps he went well but then he started to lose power and had to retire on lap 18 out of 30
