Home advantage as Sodbury get down to business

CHIPPING Sodbury’s first team, captained by Jamie Rendell, have two home games in June as the league season gets into full swing. The team are competing in the Gloucestershire division of the West of England Premier League.

CHIPPING Sodbury’s first team, captained by Jamie Rendell, have two home games in June as the league season gets into full swing.  The team are competing in the Gloucestershire division of the West of England Premier League.
They have home games at the Ridings against Bourton Vale on June 4 and Tewkesbury on June 18.
Jerry Swatton is once again in charge of Sodbury second side who will play in Division Three of the Gloucestershire County League. They entertain Dumbleton on June 11 and Hatherley & Reddings on June 25. Sodbury Thirds, captained by Steve Febry, are in Division Seven of the Bristol & District League and Sodbury 4’s, skippered by Damian Frodsham, are in Division Eleven. The fifth team are in Division 16.
Sodbury’s Sunday side competes in the Village League and the club has a full array of junior sides. Senior teams practice at the Ridings on Thursdays, 6.15pm and players of all ages and abilities welcome.
Meanwhile a sponsorship deal with local property services firm Ian Williams has meant the club can kit out all five Saturday teams. Club chairman Andy Shield said; “It’s fabulous that everyone, from the firsts right through to the fifths, will now be playing in the same attire and looking the part for what we hope will be a memorable summer.”
