AEK Boco Juniors were next to visit Old Sodbury and they made the home side work really hard for their win. Deploying five players across the back the visitors proved a hard nut to crack but the breakthrough came midway through the first half when Ross Womack’s teasing corner was headed in powerfully by skipper Josh Pearce. Top scorer Womack became more influential as the game progressed and he scored a wonderful half volley and thumping drive to give the team breathing space. The best move of the half involved Tyler Dervishi, Callum Heaphy and Womack and was finished by a sublime side footed half volley by Ethan Lloyd for his 14th goal of the season.
Old Sodbury were made to graft for their next goal and it was Womack who completed his hat trick. He added one more to bring his tally to four for the match and 39 for the season to date. Robbie Foxwell’s typical endeavour brought him a deserved 20th goal of an impressive season while man of the match Tom Newns sprinted from left back to overlap the winger, cut inside and flash a brilliant 20 yard strike into the far top corner for his first goal for the club.
Following Sodbury’s  8-0 win over Boco the team find themselves with promotion very much in mind. Having won all of their games and amassed an incredible 92 goals nobody is likely to bet against them.
