ONE of the presenters of the popular BBC television series Coast will help raise money for young carers when she visits Chipping Sodbury.
Miranda Krestovnikoff has been invited by the town’s Inner Wheel club to give a whistle-stop tour around the UK coastline and share memorable filming experiences at a talk on Friday, November 11.
She will also take the audience behind the scenes to explain the challenges and difficulties associated with recording coastal wildlife.
The event in Chipping Sodbury Town Hall has been organised in aid of Young Carers in South Gloucestershire, a charity that supports local youngsters who help and care for members of their own family.
Locally, St Nicholas youth centre in Yate hosts a meeting of Young Carers for those from the age of 13, usually on the last Saturday of the month.
One-to-one support for carers is also provided where needed and the charity raises awareness with schools of some of the problems faced by child carers.
Marilyn Heffer, president of the Inner Wheel, said: “Miranda is a wonderful, entertaining speaker and we are so lucky to have her in Chipping Sodbury and supporting our cause.”
Miranda, who also stars in Wreck Detectives and The One Show, will start her talk at 7.30pm. Doors open at 6.45pm and tickets costing £12 are available by calling 01454 313715.
