Local racing driver Chris Hignell has had a great start to the season in the Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship in his new Peugeot 106. At both the Easter "Howard's Day" meeting, and the May Bank holiday round, he managed third in class. With 14 points he is currently laying tenth in the championship table.

Hignell is one of only a handful of racers in the UK with an MSA national B race licence, being blind in his left eye following a life threatening accident in 2008. He has found considerable sponsorship from local businesses to assist in the costs of racing at this level.
