Lottery jackpot win for Yate neighbours
SIX Yate neighbours are in the money after winning a lottery jackpot.
The residents of Wentworth, off Sundridge Park, won £1,000 each when their postcode, BS37 4DJ, was announced as a daily prize winner in the People’s Postcode Lottery on August 2.
People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery which raises money for charities.
Players sign up, enter their postcode and pay £10 per month to take part.
They are automatically entered into a draw every day of the month, ranging from £10 to a share in a £3 million monthly draw.
There are £1,000 daily jackpots, such as the one won by the Wentworth residents, whose win came two months after residents of another street a few hundred yards away won the same prize.
The eight Woodmancote residents won £1,000 each at the beginning of June.
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
The draw won by the Wentworth residents was promoted by Depaul, a youth homelessness charity which has received more than £10.8 million in funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Funding applications are now being accepted by the People’s Postcode Lottery: visit www.postcodelottery.co.uk or the lottery's Facebook and Twitter pages for more information.
