Lottery win for neighbours in Yate street
FIVE neighbours in Yate have won themselves a lottery windfall.
The Parnall Crescent neighbours each won £1,000 when their postcode, BS37 5XT, was announced as a daily prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Saturday.
People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery which raises money for charities.
Players sign up, enter their postcode and pay £10 per month to take part.
They are automatically entered into a draw every day of the month, ranging from £10 to a share in a £3 million monthly draw.
There are £1,000 daily jackpots, such as the one won by the Parnall Crescent residents, whose win is the third by residents of a Yate street since June.
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
Saturday's draw was promoted by The Ramblers, a charity which works to protect and expand the places where people can walk. It has received more than £10.1 million in funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Local charities can apply for funding next year.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson (above) said: “What a fantastic surprise for our winners. Congratulations to them and I hope they have fun spending their winnings.”
