Lower speed limit planned for approach road to Yate primary school

But South Gloucestershire Council wants to reduce it, in line with its policy for all schools in the district, wherever possible, to be in a 20mph zone.

It said drivers travelling at a lower speed not only improved road safety for vulnerable users but also made walking and cycling to school a more attractive option. 

A consultation exercise is running until September 15 for people to have their say about the proposal, which will involve all roads within the Edgeworth housing estate being covered by the speed limit.
