Michael Johnathan Boulton 3rd. October 1941 to 12th. March 2015
Mike was affectionately known as ‘Jumbo’ to all of his friends. He was born and raised in Chipping Sodbury and attended school in the town, as a matter of fact everything ‘Jumbo’ did was for Chipping Sodbury.
He was a keen sportsman and played cricket, squash, golf, rugby and badminton but his greatest love was Chipping Sodbury Town Football Club.
When his playing days were over he became heavily involved in the running of the club and held positions on the club committee including his latest and longest as Club Treasurer.
Ill health made its unwelcome visit to Mike at the beginning of the Millennium when he was diagnosed with Diabetes. He then had both hips replaced and operations on his upper and lower spine areas then interfered with his mobility. He suffered several cardiac arrests. and passed away after a heart attack in March.
Chipping Sodbury Town will be a much poorer place now that the last of the Boulton’s has gone.
