Chipping Sodbury Food Festival

ARMY chefs will show how they cater for large numbers of hungry soldiers when a team from 162 Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps, spend a day in Chipping Sodbury.
The reservists will provide a taste of military cuisine at the town’s food and drink festival, demonstrating how they turn basic rations into welcome meals, often while operating in dangerous locations.
The visit by the Swindon-based chefs on Saturday, September 10, will be among the highlights of the two-day festival, with visitors able to sample the dishes produced.
Events this year start on the evening of Friday, September 9, when people can join a food trail to sample a variety of tasty fare around the town.
There will also be a pub quiz for foodies in the Beaufort Hunt pub, with the festival continuing the following day when food trucks and stalls will be sited in the town centre, in Hatherell’s Yard and near the Waitrose store.
