More than 200 vehicles expected at Chipping Sodbury Classic Car Run
Broad Street, Chipping Sodbury
MORE than 200 classic cars are expected to turn out for one of Chipping Sodbury’s most popular annual events. The Classic Car Run organised by the town’s Rotary club returns on Sunday June 30 with a unique opportunity to see the vehicles close up as they arrive. It features pre-1994 cars, motorcycles and light commercial vehicles.
Co-organiser Mark Benstock said: “Because this event is based very firmly in Chipping Sodbury, we like to give local residents the opportunity to come and see these wonderful vehicles.
“Anyone who’s an early riser can come to Broad Street to see the cars as they arrive and assemble. The Ridings from lunchtime is a particularly good place to bring the whole family to see the cars and to meet the owners.”
The morning starts bright and early at 7.30am on Broad Street. At 8.30am the cars head off for a drive through South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, with a break at the Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club. They return to Chipping Sodbury at about noon and assemble on the Ridings playing field.
The event is one of the Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury’s annual fundraisers, with money raised going to charities, groups and individuals.
