The competition was part of the Sainsbury’s Schools Games with the finalists going onto compete at Bristol Grammar School on the 16th April.
Despite the poor weather first thing in the morning, 240 students from 16 schools battled hard on the muddy ground at  Chipping Sodbury rugby club
The Ridge School beat St Pauls in the Plate Final, Charborough Road School overcame Trinity Primary in the Cup Final, and Holy Family Primary were voted winners of the Fair Play award.
Steve Revett, Head of PE at Yate International Academy said “It was really good to see the quality of the Tag Rugby improve as the afternoon went on and was great to play the finals in sunshine after such a wet morning.
A big thank you also goes to Phil and his team from Chipping Sodbury Rugby club for providing the pitches, referees, food for the children and tea and coffee for all. Without their fantastic support we would not have been able to run this event’.
