The Christians are to headline the inaugural Sodbury Music Festival at Chipping Sodbury Town Football Club.

The festival, on Saturday 3 June is a fundraiser for the club’s increased expenses after two promotions in a row.  Organisers say 10 bands will take to the stage at the football club with a mini funfair, and drinks tents also promised.

Scott Gibson, Club Manager and Local Councillor, said: “It’s fantastic news for our loyal supporters and in terms of putting Chipping Sodbury on the map that the club has been promoted for two seasons running. But promotion comes with rising costs – like new floodlighting and kit.”

“I’m really excited that we can help raise the money we need to keep up this level of success by putting on a day of great music and entertainment for the local community.”

Gates open at 11am, with music from midday till 10:30pm. Tickets are available from www.cstfc.co.uk/sodfest-2017, Bristol Ticket Shop, The Horseshoe Pub and Chipping Sodbury Tourist Information Centre. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and on a sliding scale for under 18s and children.
