AS one successful season ends, another has already been planned by Chipping Sodbury Music Society.
Seven concerts featuring mainly locally-based artists will make up the 2015-16 season, starting with the Roaring Fork Quintet. The musicians will be making a return visit to the town by popular demand to play music for woodwind instruments and the French horn. Their performance on October 13 will launch the 68th season of the society, which started life in the 1940s as the Downleaze Music Club. Each season runs from October to May, with concerts held in Chipping Sodbury Town Hall. After the opening event, audiences can then look ahead to November 10 when the Antara Flute and Harp Duo, sponsored by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, has been booked. Vintage jazz group Sweet Rhythm will be on stage in December, to be followed into 2016 by the Bristol Chamber Choir, the Marylebone Woodwind Trio, local group Harbour Winds and Bristol guitarist Andreas Moutsioulis.
Tickets are already available from the society’s website at www.csmusicsociety.co.uk or the box offi ce on 01454 315741.
