CHOCOLATE treats were given to Yate and Chipping Sodbury foodbank as part of an Easter campaign by the organisation that runs South Gloucestershire’s leisure centres.
The Circadian Trust operates eight Active Centres across the district, including in Yate, and the campaign involved those people enrolling as members being asked for an Easter egg in return for a reduced joining fee.
More than 200 eggs were received as a result, all of them given to foodbanks and charities to be handed out to families in need as a special treat.
Erica Cross, the trust’s marketing manager, said: “We were delighted with the results of our campaign. We not only saw more than 200 people start a healthier, active lifestyle, but we also helped local families that were struggling to get by.”
