A MAJOR fund raising effort resulted in a new trim trail being installed in the playground at North Road Primary School, Yate.
A total of £3,750 was collected since last September to pay for the equipment, with money coming in from a host of events and activities.
Head teacher, Jo Williams, said: “After speaking to all the children, the vast majority wanted things to climb and swing on. It is very popular and great fun.”
The school is now focussed on its family orienteering challenge, to be held at 2pm on Sunday, July 5, and sponsored by the Edison Ford property agent.
Local families, friends of the school and residents from the wider South Gloucestershire area are invited to take part, with prizes to be awarded to the top three participants and medals presented to everyone who takes part,
Anyone interested should register at the school office. Entry is £5 in advance per family of four or £7 on the day. Children under four are free but the route will not be suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs
