Pedestrian dies after being hit by reversing car

A MAN has died after he was hit by a vehicle reversing out of a driveway.

Avon and Somerset police said the man, who was in his 90s, was walking in Manor Lane, Charfield, when he was “involved in a collision with a car” on January 16 at 8.55am.

A spokesperson said: “The pedestrian suffered a fractured rib and was taken to Southmead Hospital, where sadly he died the following day.

We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in Manor Lane around the time of the incident, who may have information to help our enquiries.”
