TIME is running out for people to make sure they can vote in the forthcoming election for a police and crime commissioner for the area.

TIME is running out for people to make sure they can vote in the forthcoming election for a police and crime commissioner for the area.
Voters will go to the polls on Thursday, May 5, to elect a commissioner but anyone who misses the April 18 deadline for registration will be unable to have their say.
Anyone not currently on the electoral register but takes action ahead of the cut-off date will also be registered in good time for the referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union, which takes place on June 23.
Ben Brook, head of the Electoral Commission in the English regions, said: “Our research shows that young people, students and recent home movers are less likely to be registered to vote.
“If people are not registered, they won’t be able to have a say on issues that directly affect their day-to-day life in South Gloucestershire.”
