Police seek key witness to Yate drink-drive incident
POLICE are trying to trace a man who removed a man's keys from his ignition following a suspected drink-driving incident in Yate.
The motorist is a key witness in the case of a 74-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after the incident in Iron Acton Way, near the junction with Goose Green Way, between 2pm and 3pm on October 9.
The pensioner has been released under investigation in connection with the incident.
Avon and Somerset police today appealed for the motorist to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "Before police officers arrived at the scene, a member of the public got out of their car and approached the man’s vehicle, taking the car keys out of the ignition.
"This witness is described as white, middle-aged, with dark hair and wearing a checked shirt."
Officers have called on the witness to call them on 101 and quote the crime reference number 5219 233 963.
