Popular park re-opens after upgrade
The Friends of Brinsham Park were joined by councillors from Yate Town Council to formally reopen the Brinsham Play Area, following work to install extra equipment.
The park in north Yate provides a valuable community and wildlife space for the local area.
A consultation with pupils from local schools had identified that the play area needed additional equipment that would challenge its users physically, promoting imaginative play and to complement the surrounding area.
As a result the play area has had additional equipment installed.
The project was completed using funds provided by local housing development.
Councillor John Ford, Chair of Yate Town Council said: “The Brinsham Park play area has been in desperate need of additional equipment for the last 25 years. This most welcome addition to the play area is the start of more improvements to come in the not too distant future.”
