RESIDENTS and staff at Kennedy House in Yate collected £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support when they took part in the charity’s annual coffee morning fund raiser.
They were among a number of tenants and employees of Chipping Sodbury-based housing association Merlin who got involved in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Between them they raised £1,500 for the charity, with Kennedy House hosting the biggest event.
A big selection of home made cakes and a giant raffle at the sheltered and retirement home complex were enjoyed by those taking part.
Tracey Prosser, leader of the independent living services team, said: “We’re absolutely ecstatic at how much we raised. We had loads of cakes made by staff, residents and their family and friends.”
She said prizes for the raffle were donated by local businesses, residents and staff.
