A NEW fund raiser will be launched by Yate and District Rotary Club when golfers tee off for a charity challenge.

The inaugural event is set to take place on Thursday, September 21, at Chipping Sodbury Golf Club.

The 18-hole Stableford competition is for teams of three and all proceeds will be used for local, national and international charity work.

In the year to the end of June 2016, Yate Rotary donated £7,987 to local community projects and individuals, including Yate Young Carers, a total of £2,220 to national charities and £6,893 for international support, including the campaign to eradicate polio.

Members now hope the new addition to its fund raising activities will be well supported and raise plenty of money.

Entry to the golf day is £145 per team, to include a meal. There will be trophies for the top scoring men’s and women’s teams, as well as prizes for a number of on-course competitions and a raffle.

To obtain an entry form, send a message to email@yaterotaryclub.co.uk or phone Roger Hooker on 07785 971866.
