SCOUTS, guides and explorers from across the Avon scouting area took part in an annual overnight hiking and orienteering competition organised by the 1st Chipping Sodbury Scout Group.
Two competitions, one of five hours and the other of eight, made up the Sodbury Challenge, which took months to plan and involved overnight marshalling by organisers and leaders.
Members of 30 teams were tested on their map and compass skills, as well as their ability to plot eight-figure references accurately.
Chipping Sodbury Thursday Scouts and Trident Explorers won the five-hour competition, with Raysfield and Nike Explorers team triumphing in the eight-hour event.
