ORGANISERS of Chipping Sodbury’s annual Victorian Day have joined the town’s chamber of commerce to encourage businesses to take part in a Christmas window competition.
Based on a Christmas songs theme, it is hoped the contest will bring more shoppers into the town.
Amy-Louise Curtis-Whitfield, who runs the Sodbury Florist in Hatherell’s Yard, is one of the organisers of the competition, which runs from December 1-8.
She said: “We have been delighted with the very positive response from everybody.”
People entering the competition will be asked to guess the name of the song portrayed in each window and vote for their favourite.
They can pick up entry forms from the tourist information centre and participating shops, with the chamber presenting £100 to the creators of the winning display to be donated to their chosen charity.
Victorian Day is on Friday, December 4, but it is hoped the displays will remain in windows for the rest of the month.
