Sight charity receives windfall from Yate organisation

Yate and District Townswomen's Guild has presented a cheque to a charity dedicated to help people threatened with blindness.

Yate and District Townswomen's Guild has presented a cheque to a charity dedicated to help people threatened with blindness.

RP Fighting Blindness received a cheque for £3,000 from the Guild after they nominated it as their charity last year.

They charity is focussed on finding a treatment for retinitis pigmentosa and other other hereditary conditions of the retina which lead to deterioration of sight and ultimately to blindness. RP affect some 25,000 people in the UK. The charity also offers information and support services to those affected.
