THE Barnardo’s charity shop in Chipping Sodbury is taking part in a toy exchange to raise money for vulnerable children.
Old teddies, dolls and games can be taken to the shop in Hatherell’s Yard until November 20 in return for a £5 voucher towards new toys being sold by retailer Argos.
Last year the scheme, which is in its fourth year, raised £560,000 for Barnardo’s. Items can also be taken to Argos stores but customers have to spend a minimum of £35 on new toys by December 24 to qualify for the reduction.
Barnardo’s shop manager Nicola Bryant said: “We support some of the most disadvantaged children and young people, such as those growing up in poverty and those living in care. The funds raised will make a big difference.”
