Sodbury score a perfect four

CHIPPING Sodbury believe they may have created a piece of CLUB history when all four of their Saturday cricket sides were accompanied by dedicated scorers.

Sue Soper was with the 1sts at Apperley, Tony Wake with the 2nds at home to Cinderford St Johns, Steve Forecast with the thirds away to Bishopston and Malcolm Doody was with the fourths at home to Frampton Cotterell.

League regulations demand that a qualified scorer must be in place for first and second team fixtures, but more often than not scoring duties in other games fall to the players involved in the match.

Chairman Andy Shield said: “We are very fortunate to have members who dedicate their Saturday afternoons to helping out in this way, I’m not sure any of us can think of other clubs who are in a similar position to having four qualified scorers.”

“It’s a real bonus for the players involved as they can concentrate fully on their cricket and we also have books that add up and balance!”
