A TRAFFIC calming measure is set to be introduced in a Yate street after houses and flats were built on a former care home site.

A TRAFFIC calming measure is set to be introduced in a Yate street after houses and flats were built on a former care home site.

The 24 social housing properties are on land in Kelston Close, where Wapley Court used to provide accommodation for the elderly.

As part of the redevelopment, funding was provided through the planning process to install a speed table in the cul-de-sac, which is also used to reach Culverhill special school and Abbotswood Primary School. Its purpose will be to slow traffic and protect children attending the two schools, as well as residents in the new homes.

Anyone who wants to make a comment about the proposal should contact South Gloucestershire Council by March 15.
