SOUTH Gloucestershire police officers are among winners in this year’s Avon and Somerset neighbourhood policing awards.

SOUTH Gloucestershire police officers are among winners in this year’s Avon and Somerset neighbourhood policing awards.
A panel of judges sifted through more than 240 nominations to determine the winners for different policing areas, which included neighbourhood police team sergeant Clive Summerill for outstanding customer service.
Sgt Summerill is responsible for the teams that cover areas such as Yate, Chipping Sodbury, Frampton Cotterell and Winterbourne.
The overall winners will now be announced at an awards dinner at the end of November.
Other area winners from South Gloucestershire include the Frampton Cotterell neighbourhood team, special constable Sara White and volunteer police cadet Alex Masey. It was also decided to give a special recognition award to the rural crime team as part of the neighbourhood beat team of the year category.
Temporary chief constable Gareth Morgan said: “The standard of nominations for this year’s awards have been outstanding.
“It’s always a privilege and source of pride to read the citations, particularly those from the public, outlining the role that officers and staff are undertaking in communities across Avon and Somerset.”
