Teddy making and giving shows school children have kind hearts
CHILDREN at a Chipping Sodbury school have been showing they have a big heart as well as nifty fingers.
The Year 1 children at Raysfield Primary School have been using their design and fine motor skills to create and stitch together their own teddy bears.
In return for being able to keep the bears they have made, they are bringing in a bear from home to donate to the Teddy Bear trust, a charity who provides teddies to refugee children.
Head teacher Claire Hill said: "I’m so proud that our youngest children are gaining an understanding of the importance of helping others less fortunate.
"They have been very generous sending their loved teddies on to a new home – a great example of how they can connect with the community in a positive way."
