A TEENAGER is in hospital with serious head injuries after being assaulted in Yate.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident, which happened at the junction of Windsor Drive and Cranleigh Court Road.

The 19-year-old was attacked shortly before 1.40am on Saturday

Avon and Somerset police said he was walking home with friends after a Friday night out when they became involved in an altercation with another group.

The force said the teenager suffered a head injury and went home, where he collapsed and an ambulance was called.

A spokesperson said: "We’ve carried out house-to-house and forensic enquiries and uniformed neighbourhood officers patrolled the area."

Police arrested three men, aged 32, 24 and 20, on Saturday afternoon, on suspicion of wounding with intent.

All three have since been released on police bail, with conditions including an overnight curfew.
