A girls U13’s Rugby Festival hosted by Chipping Sodbury Mini and Youth has been hailed a success with teams coming from as far afield as Minehead.
The poor weather didn’t dampen the girls enthusiasm or affect the pitches which had held up well despite the rain. As the games started it was clear that the competitive nature of the teams involved would ensure that spectators and players enjoyed a feast of rugby.
The hosts were joined by teams representing Kingswood, Walcot, Cheddar, Nailsea&Blackwell, Gordano, Old B’s, Frome, Hornetts, Wiscombe and Bridgewater. Despite playing against more experienced opposition, Sodbury gave a good account of themselves.
Organiser Graham Stait commented, “Chipping Sodbury would like to extend their huge thanks for all the effort put in by the teams and everyone who helped make this day the success it was.”
