It was third time lucky for the Yate Star Twirlers when they achieved a podium position at the European Majorette Championships. For the first time in the three years they have been representing their country at European level, the troupe finished second for their Traditional Majorette Corp routine.
Held in Italy, the championships attract teams from all over Europe including Croatia, Norway, Bulgaria, France, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
Trainer Michelle Taylor said; “We are very proud of all our members as this was an extremely high standard of competition, alongside the best European Teams. It has been a pleasure working with Yate Star Twirlers this year. We hope to represent England again at next year’s European Championships, which will be held in England”.
The troupe founded in 2010 and made up of girls aged 9-20 is entirely funded by donations. Any local companies who wish to contribute or become a sponsor please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
