Volunteers to show off hard work

July 31 2017

The volunteers of the Lilliput Conservation Group will be showing off their hard work at a morning walk on Saturday 5 August.

The volunteers of the Lilliput Conservation Group will be showing off their hard work at a morning walk on Saturday 5 August.

They normally have work mornings on one Saturday and one Tuesday each month, but instead of the weekend work morning in August, there will be an opportunity to explore the park's environment and history.

Conservation Group member Paul Hulbert said "Many local people enjoy the park without realising what the park was originally, before all the houses were built. We'll be telling them a bit about the history, and showing them what our volunteers been up to over the last few months. We're starting from the Kingfisher Road gate at 10 am"

"If you feel keen you can come and help us get the park ready on Tuesday 1 August - we'll be on site for a couple of hours from 10 am. Please wear suitable footwear - stout shoes or wellies. We will supply tools and gloves, but please bring shears and secateurs if you have them"

Lilliput Park is a small historic landscaped park just off Heron Way, Chipping Sodbury. The park, which is owned and maintained by Dodington Parish Council, has a playground and sports equipment plus a variety of wildlife throughout the year.

The Lilliput walk is one of Dodington Parish Council's Discover Dodington programme - more local events are shown on www.dodingtonpc.org.uk/discover/
